- On a standard order, Ford's own transportation network delivers the finished vehicle to the dealer or customer. Baier is not part of that network.
- Work trucks can be ordered through Ford Pro Ship Through: built at the plant, sent to an upfitter near the factory, then returned to the plant to rejoin Ford's network for delivery. Ford notes carrier height and weight limits can restrict it.
- With Ford Pro Drop Ship, the truck goes to the upfitter named by its drop-ship code and Ford tells the customer to arrange delivery with the upfitter. Moving a finished pickup or SUV from that upfitter or the delivering dealer to you is the part Baier handles.
Pickup Notes
- Hours, gate rules and release paperwork depend on the dealer or upfitter that hands over the vehicle, and the manufacturer does not publish them for this plant. Confirm them with the releasing site and pass them to dispatch when you book.
- Get a written release from the dealer or upfitter: the contact who will hand over the unit, the VIN or stock number, and the hours their lot is open.
- Ask whether the title document for a new vehicle (the Manufacturer's Certificate of Origin) travels with the vehicle or separately, and tell dispatch which.
- At pickup the driver and the releasing party inspect the vehicle and sign the bill of lading; keep your copy. Someone 18 or older signs again at delivery.
- A bed, crane, dump body or service body turns a Super Duty into a commercial unit. Send its weight and dimensions with the commercial quote request.
