What expedited service actually changes
Every auto transport move has two parts: the wait before a truck picks the car up, and the time the car spends on the truck. Expedited service shortens the first part. Your order goes to the front of the dispatch queue, so it is matched with the next truck heading your direction instead of waiting for a load to fill.
It does not make the drive itself shorter. Federal hours-of-service rules cap how long a commercial driver can be behind the wheel: 11 hours of driving inside a 14-hour window, then 10 consecutive hours off. Baier calculates transit the same way on every lane: 400 to 500 miles of driving per day, plus half a day to load at pickup and half a day to unload at delivery, rounded up to whole days. Anyone promising a solo driver much more than that per day is guessing.
There are two common forms of expedited service. Priority dispatch puts your vehicle on the next truck running your lane and is the smaller premium. A dedicated truck, such as a single car transport or a hotshot run, carries only your vehicle and makes no other stops, and costs considerably more.
Transit times on common lanes
These windows count the days from loading to delivery. They are the same numbers the instant quote and the route pages use.
| Lane | Road miles | Transit once loaded |
|---|---|---|
| Seabrook, NH to Charlotte, NC | 800 | 3 days |
| Seabrook, NH to Jacksonville, FL | 1,100 | 4 days |
| Seabrook, NH to Orlando, FL | 1,300 | 4-5 days |
| New York, NY to Miami, FL | 1,280 | 4-5 days |
| Kansas City, MO to Boston, MA | 1,420 | 4-5 days |
| Los Angeles, CA to New York, NY | 2,800 | 7-8 days |
Add the pickup wait to these numbers to get your total time. With expedited service that wait is short; with a flexible standard booking it depends on the season and how many trucks are running your lane. For the full explanation, read how long auto transport takes.
When the rush premium is worth it
Expedited service is worth paying for when a date is truly fixed and missing it costs more than the premium: a home closing, a job start date, a military report date, an auction storage clock, or a lease turn-in deadline. In those cases a short pickup wait protects everything planned around it.
It is usually not worth paying for when you simply want the car gone sooner. A standard booking with an honest first available date and a few days of flexibility gets there for less. Timing matters too. October through December on the New England to Florida corridor is the busiest stretch of the year, and the most expensive time to need a rush. If you know you will be heading south, booking in August or September avoids the problem.
How to keep an expedited move on schedule
- Give dispatch the exact pickup and delivery addresses, including gate codes.
- Have the car ready on your first available date, with the keys available.
- Tell us when you book if the car does not run. A non-running vehicle needs a truck with a winch.
- Keep personal items light: up to about 100 pounds in the trunk, packed below the window line. Personal items are not covered by cargo insurance.
- Walk around the car with the driver at pickup and check the Bill of Lading before you sign at delivery.
Who hauls your car
About half of our loads ride on Baier trucks with Baier drivers. The rest move with vetted partner carriers that hold active FMCSA authority and insurance on file, booked under our broker authority (Baier Automotive Logistics, MC 1218658). Either way, Baier stays your single point of contact from quote to delivery.

Expedited transport questions
Does expedited service make the truck drive faster?
No. Expedited shortens the wait before pickup, not the drive. Federal hours-of-service rules let a commercial driver drive 11 hours within a 14-hour window and then require 10 hours off, which is why Baier plans every lane at 400 to 500 miles a day no matter what service you choose.
How quickly can an expedited vehicle be picked up?
Expedited orders are dispatched first, with pickup targeted for 24 to 48 hours after booking. Give us an accurate first available date and the exact pickup address when you book so dispatch can assign a truck right away.
How long does an expedited move from New Hampshire to Miami take?
Seabrook, NH to Miami is about 1,500 road miles, which is 4-5 days once the car is loaded under Baier’s transit rule. Expedited service shortens the time before the car is loaded; the time on the truck stays the same.
What is the difference between a pickup window and a guaranteed pickup date?
A pickup window is a range of days the truck expects to reach you, and your first available date is where that range starts. A guaranteed pickup date commits a specific truck and driver to a specific day, which costs more because the load has to be built around your stop. Ask what happens if a guaranteed date is missed before you pay for one.
How is expedited transport priced?
Expedited rates add a rush premium to the standard price, based on how soon the pickup is and how far the vehicle is going. Enter your ZIP codes and dates in the instant quote to see the price before you book.
Can I book expedited enclosed transport?
Yes. Enclosed transport adds 40 to 60 percent to the open price, and the rush premium applies on top of that. Enclosed trucks are fewer than open trucks on any lane, so share your dates as early as you can.
