Auto transport Sarasota moves from New England are among the most common southbound shipments each fall, along with Naples and Fort Myers. Under Baier's 2026–27 Snowbird Fixed-Price Program, real quotes on these lanes have landed at $1,805 from Boston to Naples and $1,985 from Burlington, Vermont to Sarasota, with Boston to Fort Myers working out to about $1,765. The price is road miles times a fixed per-mile rate, all-inclusive, and you see it before you book.

Two lanes of similar length can price differently because of the origin state rate. Burlington to Sarasota is slightly shorter than Boston to Naples but costs more, because Vermont origins use the $1.35 rate. The I-75 leg
Trucks headed to the Gulf Coast typically run down the East Coast and then work across to I-75 for the final stretch through Tampa, Sarasota, Fort Myers and Naples. That means Southwest Florida deliveries often follow Tampa-area drops on the same run.
For you, the practical effect is that the delivery address matters more than the city name. A home just off the interstate is simpler than a barrier island address with a low bridge or a narrow causeway. Tell us about any access limits when you book so dispatch can plan.
Many Naples, Fort Myers and Sarasota communities don't allow a full-size car carrier past the gate, and some restrict commercial vehicles entirely. Get a gate pass in advance if the community allows trucks, or pick a nearby spot with room to unload, like a large shopping center lot. Let us know at booking so the driver calls with a meeting point.
Seasonal timing
Peak southbound demand runs from October through December. The published booking guidance is simple: book in August or September for October through January transport. Early bookings get first choice of pickup windows.
The program uses a 3-day pickup window. You pick a requested date and Baier picks up that day or one day either side. Request October 17, for example, and the window is October 16 through 18. The office confirms the day and the driver calls with the exact time. During peak season the window may shift by up to two days. The earliest bookable pickup is 3 days from today.
If you will head back north in spring, tell us when you quote. Most snowbird customers ship both ways, and Baier locks the same fixed rate for the March through May return trip. See shipping your car back north in spring for that leg.

Transit time: two different numbers
You may see two transit figures, and they measure different things.
The general transit rule. A loaded car hauler covers 400 to 500 miles of driving per day, plus half a day to load and half a day to unload. For a lane around 1,500 miles, that works out to 4 to 5 days once the car is loaded. This is how Baier calculates transit time on standard quotes.
The Snowbird program estimate. Program cars move through Baier's New England–Florida network, from your address up north to your Gulf Coast address. Delivery is estimated within 10 days of pickup. If a delay within Baier's control runs past 10 days, you get a $25 credit for each extra day.
The program trades a slightly longer window for a fixed, all-inclusive price. If you need a tighter timeline, ask about standard options through the quote form.
Getting the car ready
- Remove personal items and toll transponders.
- Leave about a quarter tank of fuel.
- Photograph every panel, the wheels and the odometer before pickup.
- Check the vehicle condition report on the bill of lading at pickup and again at delivery before you sign.
